Flamboyant daredevil zoologist Steve Irwin was killed early Monday while filming a documentary about stingrays off of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. He was swimming above one of the animals when its barb came up and pierced his heart. He was 44. Steve, the "Crocodile Hunter," was loved by millions around the world and was regarded as one of Australia's national treasures. He could get a state funeral if his family agrees.

How very sad. He leaves a wife and 2 small children, his daughter is 8 and his son is only 2. We have really enjoyed his shows, he has made us laugh numerous times. He will be missed.
This is too sad. I always loved watching Steve, with his eyes popping out after something exciting had happened. I have always wondered what it was like raising this child. (And I thought my kids were tough!) Talk about ADHD! That was one hyperactive guy! He could always make us laugh and probably always will.
sniff.
