This weekend has been perfect snowball fight weather, because the snowballs pack together tightly, but still explode on impact. I should have a picture to illustrate here....
Paul-Brrr...if it's going to be that cold you might as well have the snow to go with it. But then again you "Tenneseeians" don't know how to drive in the white stuff, do you?
Jim- I used to love a good ole snowball fight, and thought it was hilarious if I hit someone in the face with one....that is until I married Uncle Dave and he shoved my face in the snow after I got him with one (in the face). LOL! I'll never forget that!
It finally snowed here in TN! No, Rachel, we don't know how to drive in it. But that's OK. I walked to work and plan on staying home this evening. It'll probably be all melted soon anyway! :(
Hey! Wait a minute! I just noticed that Aunt Rachel is trying to spread rumors. I did not "shove her face in the snow". The action was more of a tackle to the ground and scoop snow in her face. There is a difference to me even if she doesn't think so. Maybe since she keeps phrasing it that way I should give her a taste of some good ol' snow in the face right now. ;)
That would be this comment. The only thing you failed to mention is what might not occur to a New Yorker: the danger of driving in snow on the same road with people who don't know how to drive in snow. If we were to get a dusting of snow here in NW Florida (it's happened!) I would stay home -- not because I couldn't drive in it, but because I'd be scared that someone else would run into me!
Also, I recommend testing the handbrake in a parking lot filled with snow. With sufficient practice, you will learn how to hit the snowbank on the inside of a corner rather than the one on the outside. Make sure it's not your church parking lot.
I happened to see three vehicles in the church parking lot on Friday night all spinning in circles. Doing doughnuts we call it. Two of those vehicles belonged to my very own sons and the other, doing his doughtnuts in reverse (he has front-wheel drive), was my own dear son in law...

Oooo, yeah! A snowball fight!
It's a toasty 11 degrees here in TN, but not a flake of snow.:(

I can't throw snowballs well.

Oh, I walked to work so I could take pictures. I usually ride my bike.

Paul, you should remember how to drive in the snow because I told Mike how on his blog.

What does that tell you?
Dave would have loved to join in on the fun!
Adam got stuck in the snowbank at least twice! Ha-ha!
When was this!!! I had NO idea he was doing doughnuts in MY car!!! He's gonna get it...
i kinda wish i was there... except for the stuck part.
We'll have to keep a look out for those same three guys tonight. Now we really have snow!
2/20- This is snowball weather! Sure is drippy outside!
This is snowman weather. Snowballs made with this kind of snow don't explode with force; they stick together too tightly.
You're right. It was (maybe still is) iceball weather.
